Why A Hallowe’en Playlist?

Well, why not?  A Hallowe’en playlist is just the thing to have in the time leading up to the 31st October and on the night itself.  It will put you in the mood for spooky season and free you up for sexy times instead!  As you know from reading my About Me page, I’m hooked on music, so I strongly believe it’s always the right time to listen to great music.  I’ve saved you the trouble of hunting out the songs yourself in the hopes that listening to these will help add something a little extra special to your celebrations.

Please note:  in order to remain true to our brand and our legal responsibilities, there are certain words that we do not use.  Given that, whenever the name of the group or song contains one of these words, I will substitute the word “bleep.”  If at some point the link becomes invalid, please do let me know at sascha@enchantrixempire.com.

The 2025 Playlist

Something that you may or may not know about me is that Hallowe’en is my favourite holiday.  If you’ve been following along in our Enchantrix Empire space, you’ll know that I’ve been curating Hallowe’en songs all month.  And now, here’s a round up special (with a few extra added in because I got started late)..

I See A Bad Moon Rising by Creedence Clearwater Revival  One of the most popular songs by this iconic band.

Got My Mojo Working by Muddy Waters  You can never go wrong with Muddy Waters.

Haunted (Taylor’s Version) by Taylor Swift.

Ghost Riders In The Sky by The Outlaws.  There are so many covers of this song, but this is my favourite.  The way he belts out that final “in the skyyyyy” makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up every time (in a good way!)..

All My Ghosts by Lizzy McAlpine

Devil Inside by INXS

Overture From The Phantom of the Opera.  Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Werewolves of London by Warren Zevon.  I just have to look at the title of this song and I hear the music in my head–plus, of course, the “Ah-ooo, werewolves of London.”

Hallowe’en by Siouxsie and the Banshees

Love Potion Number 9 by The Clovers.  This is one of the more light-hearted numbers on this playlist, and it’s very easy to sing/hum along to.

Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered by Linda Ronstadt.  Now sadly unable to sing due to progressive supranuclear palsy (originally diagnosed as Parkinson’s), back in the day she could sing anything she turned her mind to, from country to pop to Broadway standards to traditional Mexican Mariachi music and more.

Ghostbusters by Ray Parker Jr.  Enough said.

I Put A Bleep On You by Nina Simone.  The original by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins was great of course, but I love Nina Simone.

The Greatest Show Unearthed by Creature Feature.  If you’ve never heard of them, here’s what their website says:  “Creature Feature is the deviant brainchild of two sinister composers from Lost Angeles known only as Curtis Rx and Erik X. Formed on Halloween of all days, these two maniacal groundskeepers in the torture garden of auditory delight have taken it upon themselves to draw from their twisted bleep and invent a band that becomes everything that frightened you as a bleep, a band that becomes Halloween 365 days a year, a band that forces you to remember why you used to sleep with the lights on and fear the bumps in the night.”

Voodoo Woman by Koko Taylor (and check out this short but superbly educational blog post about her and the song on The Listening Post blog).

Witchy Woman by the Eagles

Ghost Tonight by Chairlift.  This group was a great discovery.

Season of the Witch by Donovan.  I first heard this version on the Super Session album by Mike Bloomfield, Al Kooper, and Steve Stills

Magic by Olivia Newton-John from the 1980 film Xanadu.

(You’re The) Devil In Disguise by Elvis.

Hallowe’en by the Bleep Mann.  These two tell us on their website that they are both nocturnal, both vegan, and both big fans of all things spooky and supernatural.

The Addams Bleep Theme (vocal version):  written by Vic Mizzy

Black Magic Woman by Santana.  I love this song so much.  It was written and first recorded by Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac but later this version hit the charts with Gregg Rollie on vocals and I’m not sure how many people know about or remember the original version.

Ain’t No Grave Can Hold My Body Down by Rory Block.  This song has been recorded by multiple artists but this a cappella rendition is my favourite; it really showcases her powerful voice.

Rattlin’ Bones by Preservation Hall Jazz Band.  I wasn’t familiar with this group until I started looking for songs for this playlist, but they’ve quickly won me over.  They were formed over 60 years ago.  In 2006 they were awarded a National Medal of Arts, which, Wikipedia informs me, is “the highest honor given to artists and arts patrons by the United States government.”

Sorcerer by Stevie Nicks

Monster Mash by Bobby “Boris” Pickett and the Crypt-Kickers.  This one is a core component of any Hallowe’en celebration.

Magic Man by Heart

Abracadabra by the Steve Miller Band

That Old Black Magic by Ella Fitzgerald

Time Warp by Little Nell, Patricia Quinn, & Richard O’Brien from The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Thriller by Michael Jackson (the full-length version, so settle in).

And finally, to wrap it all up, check out the following playlist on Youtube:  Best Dark Jazz Halloween Ambience Music 2025 🎃 Spooky Coffee Shop & Scary Halloween Playlist by Coffee Shop Ambience.

I hope you enjoy listening to this year’s Hallowe’en playlist as much as I enjoyed putting it together.  Until next time, stay safe and stay sexy!
