Every Friday, I host a chat on erotic power exchange in the tease chat room. Last night I asked everyone to share their most memorable power exchange moment. Some stories were funny, some quite serious and profound, and some a bit troublesome to the teller as well as the listeners. But all of them were so lovely, so vulnerably human.

Listening to everyone’s story prompted me to think about so many things about my own life and the lives of people I’ve known; to re-visit many of my own perceptions and judgments concerning dominance and submission; to reconsider the nature of power - the lifeforce that is constantly exchanging, renewing itself between us all, on so many levels.

Life, love, sexuality… all very strange propositions when you think about it. And in the end, I always have to just give up the “thinking,” and admit that I’ll never understand it all. As Shakepeare said: “There are more things in heaven and earth…than are dreamt of in your philosophy.”

In other words, thing’s ain’t always what they seem (or what other people tell you they are)! So rather than trying to fit in, to label what you do, to figure out why, I offer this sage advice instead:

Just follow your weird.
